The first horse to win three $1 million races, Rocknroll Hanover was bred by Western Ideal and Rich N Elegant, considered the best broodmare of her generation. Named by the United States Trotting Association as Horse of the Year in 2005 at three years old, he is currently at stud and his first foals made their racing debut in 2009. Rocknroll Hanover's horse tail hair has been generously donated by Perretti Farm in Cream Ridge, New Jersey.

A lifelong resident of Lexington, Kentucky, Carolyn Young Hisel began studying art from her grandmother at an early age. Her work has been recognized on the national level and has been exhibited frequently in the southeastern United States, with inclusions in private collections around the world. Her painting of Rocknroll Hanover pulling his sulky expresses the flight of hooves and whir of wheels as viewed from the trackside, displaying the power and nobility of the Standardbred.
Fifty-two artists from around the country have been chosen and each given small replicas of a violin and bow. Each artist has been assigned an unforgettable, beloved horse and has created a work of art. Artists have worked with paint, glass, metal, and other mediums. Their only charge was to embrace either the image or spirit of their horse. Horses include well-known Thoroughbreds, as well as other breeds represented in the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™.
Each piece will be on display at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™. During the Games, a silent auction will take place, with all proceeds go to the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra’s Partners in Education, a program benefiting the children in high-risk areas of Kentucky through music education.
