Nicknamed "the Iron Horse," Giant's Causeway earned a fearsome reputation in Europe, winning races across France, England and Ireland. He was the first horse since Nijinsky to win five consecutive Grade 1 races in a single season of European racing. He won the Irish Champion Stakes, the International Stakes, and the St. James Palace Stakes, among others, winning 9 and placing the rest of his 13 career starts. Giant's Causeway's tail hair has been generously donated by Ashford Stud in Versailles, Kentucky.

Working out of her photography studio in the emerging Distillery District in downtown Lexington, Kentucky, Mary S. Rezny is known for a wide variety of photographic styles. Her photographs documenting artwork in museums, galleries, and at the request of the individual artist have been used in books and brochures throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Her other work includes the production of photograms, a camera-less technique that explores photography's fundamentals of light, time and color. For her violin of Giant's Causeway Rezny utilizes her unique style of layering photographic images to create additional dimensions, reflecting the unique geographical landscape of Giant's Causeway, Ireland.
Fifty-two artists from around the country have been chosen and each given small replicas of a violin and bow. Each artist has been assigned an unforgettable, beloved horse and has created a work of art. Artists have worked with paint, glass, metal, and other mediums. Their only charge was to embrace either the image or spirit of their horse. Horses include well-known Thoroughbreds, as well as other breeds represented in the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™.
Each piece will be on display at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™. During the Games, a silent auction will take place, with all proceeds go to the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra’s Partners in Education, a program benefiting the children in high-risk areas of Kentucky through music education.
